Adult & Senior
Eye Exams

Your eye care journey starts with an eye exam and at the Eye Doctors we are passionate about helping you learn more about your eyes than just your glasses or contact lens prescription. We take the time to assess your eye health and observe how well your eyes work together in addition to identifying other issues that could affect your sight like glaucoma and macular degeneration, but also your overall health such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

To ensure your eyes are getting the care they need we recommend that all adults aged 19-64 have an eye exam every 2 years.

Children’s
Eye Exams

Proper eye care is essential for every growing child because they are not accustomed to noticing issues with their vision, certain eye conditions can prevent them from excelling in school, developing or even enjoying the sports they play.

Regular eye exams can help detect the early signs of these problems and provide parents with an opportunity to take control of their child’s eye health. To help ensure your child is getting the care they need we recommend that your child has their first eye exam at 6 months old, then an annual exam until they are 18 years old. These are covered by Alberta Health.

Contact Lens Exams & Fittings

If you are looking to have more flexibility without sacrificing the quality of your vision, contact lenses maybe an excellent solution. Our in-depth contact lens exam and fitting process enables us to find the right contact lenses to fit your needs, and in some cases, eye conditions you may have.

Some eye conditions, like myopia, can be controlled with the help of specialized contacts like MiSight lenses. We use the latest technology to assess the quality of your sight and eye health to match you with the perfect contact lenses.

Optomap

As part of our commitment to healthcare, we have the latest Optomap retinal imaging that gives the widest view of the retina and scans its layers to give one of the most in depth eye health checks possible. The imaging and scanning that this machine carries out is also very efficient and takes no time at all; it can be done on compliant toddlers from the age of 2 and up. Optos retinal photography imaging is provided FREE with all full eye exams because it is important to ensure that eye health is well taken care of.

Diabetic Eye Exams

Diabetes is a common health condition that affects nearly 11% of Canadians. Diabetes is a systemic condition that affects how your body processes glucose, also known as blood sugar. High blood sugar can directly impact the health of your heart, teeth, and even your eyes.

Diabetes can increase the risk of certain eye diseases and conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, diabetic macular edema, and cataracts.

However, regular eye exams can detect the early signs of these issues before you start to notice the effects they have on your vision. We can provide you with comprehensive treatment and management plans to help preserve your vision and keep your eyes healthy while living with diabetes. All you have to do is book your appointment, and we can help take care of the rest.
